BALSLEY FAMILY PHOTOS, MICHAEL DAVID WINERY – LODI, CA

Phew! I know it’s been a little while since our last update. Aimee and I just returned from a superb vacation in her home country, the Philippines. Now we’re heading down to L.A. for a short fun weekend but, before we left I wanted to share this family session with everyone. We did family photos for the Balsleys last year and it’s great to take photos every year and document their growth as a family over time.

They recommended a great little spot in Lodi, CA called Michael David Winery where we were able to roam around and find little spots here and there to take some fantastic photos. We had a really fun time photographing the Balsleys and we look forward to doing it again next year. Enjoy the photos!

MOLLY & IRVIN ENGAGEMENT, SYCAMORE GROVE PARK, LIVERMORE

Molly and Irvin have been close friends to us for a number of years now. In fact, they’ve been together nearly, exactly the same amount of time Aimee and I have been together. We have been waiting FOREVER for these kids to get engaged and they finally did so, this summer. Needless to say, we were ecstatic and couldn’t wait to do their engagement photos.

We went to Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore and had a great time wandering around, finding places to photograph them. Their engagement session is easily one of our most memorable and we couldn’t be happier for them. We’re incredibly excited for their wedding next year! ANGIE & LUIS WEDDING BRIDAL SESSION SAN FRANCISCO

Angie & Luis are good friends of ours. They got married a few years back but, they never quite got the photos they wanted of their wedding. We decided it’s time they got some great photos of themselves that they would be happy to display on their walls in their home. We ventured out to San Francisco at the Legion of Honor and Crissy Field to take some bridal session photos of them. Afterwards we did a handful of photos of them dressed a little more casually at Fort Point to finish off the day. It was an honor to photograph them and deliver something they’ll truly enjoy looking at and remembering and reminding them of their wedding day.

DIANNE & CHARLES ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT KELLEY PARK

This couple is so super sweet. We had a lot of fun shooting their engagement photos. We were back at the Japanese Friendship Garden at Kelley Park in San Jose. It’s such a great location. Lots of beautiful nooks and crannies to take photos in. Dianne & Charles are super cool and chill and that made for some great photos. Take a look and as always, enjoy!

Brittany & Matt are easily one of our most favorite couples. They are just plain fun to be around and will have you smiling within minutes. Aimee and I could not help but grin from ear to ear as we photographed their engagement session at the Japanese Friendship Garden that’s a part of Kelley Park in San Jose. AMBROSE & CHERYL’S ENGAGEMENT AT UC SANTA CRUZ

We had the fortune of photographing Ambrose & Cheryl at the University of California of Santa Cruz. Ambrose & Cheryl are a super fun and tremendously intelligent couple. Aimee and I are in awe of their accomplishments. It was a bit of a misty day for us while we wandered around the incredibly beautiful campus at UC Santa Cruz photographing their engagement session. We really enjoyed this one and we hope you do too.

CARLSON & JEAN: Holy Cross Church – Santa Cruz Photographer

Say hi to our lovely couple Jean & Carlson. You might remember their engagement shoot we did back in April of them. Well we are honored to present their wedding to you now. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time being there with them.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in the beautiful city of Santa Cruz. We always love going to Santa Cruz because it is one of our favorite places to go and relax and enjoy the coastal air and the beauty of Mother Nature. It was pure joy to shoot this wedding.

Jean & Carlson’s wedding cake (which was an awesome tower of cupcakes) was put together by the talented, creative team at Starz Cupcakes also located in Santa Cruz. If you ever get a chance, drop by and try the caramel cupcake. It was so good Dustin and I had to play paper, rock scissors to decide who got the second one we nabbed!

MIKE & JING: Mavericks Lodge – Half Moon Bay Photographer

During a wedding, you see happiness, tears and especially – love. Mike & Jing’s wedding was just like that. There were a lot of laughs and there were a lot of moments that made you tear up…and made my glasses fog up behind the camera.

Their wedding took place in beautiful Half Moon Bay and the reception was at Mavericks Lodge among scenic views and the calm waters of the bay. The talented Alena Jean Whiting of Alena Jean Flower shop & Nursery provided the floral arrangements for the day.

MATHIAS & CHRISTINA: Varberg, Sweden – Wedding

This post is long overdue and we have been excited about it ever since we learned we would leave for a destination over 5,000 miles away! To give a little back story to this post, Dustin works with Mathias at an internet company headquartered here in the Bay Area. Mathias works as a Sales Engineer and has a passion for photography himself. He and Dustin occasionally share stories and information about the passion of being a photographer.

When Dustin learned that Mathias was getting married, he and Mathias even joked a little about having us do their wedding photography. Well, as they say, many a truth are told in jest and as it turns out this was certainly the case. Before we knew it we were planning and taking care of details to travel to Sweden and be Mathias and Christina’s wedding photographers! Isn’t that awesome?

Their wedding took place at a castle in the beautiful town of Varberg. While we were shooting their wedding, we learned some cool facts about weddings in Sweden:

1. The bride and groom give each other gifts from family heirlooms.

2. The bride and groom walk down the aisle together at the beginning of the ceremony.

3. They love to sing songs about drinking and happy celebrations

4. When the bride leaves the room, all the girls in the reception area will have to fall in line and kiss the groom on the cheek, and vice versa when the groom leaves the room.

5. The bride and groom leaves the reception/party first before anyone else in the party.

JING & MIKE: Engagement – Ghirardelli Square – Baker Beach

We had a super fun time hanging out with Jing & Mike during their engagement session. We we’re able to visit a couple of pretty popular spots in the city before we ended up at the well known Baker Beach. It was sooo cold at the beach but, Jing & Mike were great about handling the cold and letting us get some great photos of them. We got a lot of photos in this set and we can’t wait to post their wedding pictures so, stay tuned!
